Just joined the board today..... I bought this fabric today and was trying to search to get some ideas. My first thought was to make the board and then deco page the letters to wooden craft tiles you can buy at any craft store.
Perhaps you could make a travel board.... Sew the board and the top box together to make a bag and use a bit of velcro for a closure. Hmmmm... Let me think some more on this venture.

I used some of the first fabric - the one with the letter tiles - to make two nine-patch blocks for my son's quilt that said STAR TREK. And then put a glow-in-the-dark star fabric in between them. 'Cause you know there is no Star Trek fabric.
And no, he's not a little boy. This will be his going-away-to-college gift. I wonder how long it will take him to find out about the glowing stars?

I cut mine into 3.5" squares, and that used up most of the blue borders, so I could not use every square. If you want to get the most use out of it, you should probably plan on squares that are a little less than 3", and the blue will all be gone into the seams, so you will be left with just the "wood" parts.

I like the fabric...and one quick gift project comes to mind for Scrabble lovers..a small bag for the tiles. The older scrabble games don't have one, so you have to lay the tiles upside down. My deluxe game came with a little drawstring bag to choose tiles from.

I love Scrabble and I love fabric - great combination, although I'm not sure how I would use it. Tote bags, lap quilts. I love the plain letters fabric - I could do a lot with those. Too bad my mother is gone now - she loved Scrabble, too, and it would make a great quilt for her!
