Hint: Put the stretchy fabric on the bottom instead of the top when sewing. Some of the clothing fabrics are just going to stretch, since they are not 100% cotton like quilting fabric. It is easier with 100% cotton. Looking good!

Welcome to the board and to the fun of quilting. I've only made some whole cloth baby quilts until this month and I finished my first pieced top. This quilting is almost as adictive as chocolate! Be sure to show us your quilt when it's finished.

Great start! To prevent your fabric from stretching, purchase some fusible interfacing which you iron onto the back of your fabric. I just made a quilt out of baby clothes and the interfacing works great!

What a great start. Can't wait to see it finished! Bet they will be surprised to see their clothes repurposed. It will be a great game of "I spy".

Thank you for all of your tips and encouragement! I will have to get some fusable interfacing because I'm going to have to make another quilt when I get this one done. Both of my girls are claiming this one and the top isn't finished yet. LOL
