I FOUND this unfinished top at my local thrift store for a dollar. It's about as bad as they come. All sorts of blended fabrics, seams don't line up, doesn't lay flat, puckers to no end. It is truly the worst thing I've ever seen.
And I bought it anyway!
Any ideas on how I might jazz it up if and when I dare try and finish it?
Looks to be made around the 70's. Pictures attached.

She just needs to be loved, and I'm sure she's very happy in her new home ;) All I'm thinking is that if this quilt top could talk - oh, the stories it could tell...
I don't have any advice, but I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Wow, you aren't kidding that one is pretty, er, um, uh, well someone gave it their best shot. I dunno if you will be able to quilt it flat or not. But you can always accentuate the eccentricity of it and just go at it warts and all and not worry if you get tucks, puckers etc in the quilting. I will give the piecer credit on the turquoise border. Looks like they tried mitering the corners!

UGLY IS only in the eye of the beholder just as Beauty is also in the eye of the beholder!!!! It's NOT THAT ugly. And whomever made it...I am sure had good intentions. But then again, they may have realized how "UGLY" it was and decided to give it up.
Could you possibly....cut it up into 9 patch blocks even though....technically they arent 9 blocks you can just square them off and then turn it into a D9P?

You might put some sort of turquoise or pink in a border that would pull those colors out from the center....if you don't decide to do what some of the others have suggested.
Also, I think if you wash it and it shrinks somewhat maybe you can starch and iron it and it will behave better. Let us see what you do.
