I agree with Feline Fanatic. I'd incorporate both blocks. An entire quite of block #1 may be boring, but if you use some of the #2 as well, I think you'll be pleased with the outcome.

Love this idea and maybe will use it for a second quilt. I decided to go go with #1 for now and with leftover fabric plan on doing another one and this will be it! Thanks so much.

Thank you all for your advice and opinions! Loved reading each comment and suggestion. Will post when completed.

I am pulled more to the first one, but they both are beauties. Why not do one of each? Either one will be beautiful.
