Thanks Kay Susan. I would love to see your friend's quilt when she gets it finished.

I've been bitten by the pattern, as well. Of course, I'll copy you on Rose's quilt. I really do think she will make something for her hubby.

This afternoon, I purchased some fat quarters and am tempted to do something bright and cheerful. I have been playing around with sizes of the finished blocks: 8 inch; 12 inch; 14 inch.

I am always challenged to get to the shortcuts and make the most of the yardage. One of my favorite teachers is Mary Ellen Hopkins :-) Quilting is fun and one of my passions....

Which size blocks do you recommend? Thanks, again.

Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan

I didn't have my contacts in, and read "planned PARENT-HOOD"! You gave me a good chuckle.

To Kay Susan,
I believe I cut my squares just about 3 1/2 inches. I just measured a block on one of my quilts and it came to 10 inches or so. You can really cut your squares any size you like. I enjoy a little bit smaller square so that I can fit more different fabrics into a 3 x 4 block lap quilt.

To luvrazz,
Yes. I thought that was an odd name for a block. That is part of the reason that I changed it. lol.

Thank you for the tips. Yes, I like to keep the logs smaller so the amount of fabrics is higher and the variety of smaller logs do not overwhelm the eye. Thanks for the tips.

I would like to make a cheery quilt as a lap quilt as part of the Linus charity projects. Our guild has been involved with lots of charity work, but this year we are limiting our work to the month of October. Several of us will make something during that time period. However, some others will also do something separately. We found out that too many charity projects throughout the calendar year burned everyone out. This year we are learning several new techniques and are sewing on our own projects.

Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan
