    Would you believe, no blue in my stash to go with this, so need to shop. I will take 1 each of blocks with me to see if I can match up a good blue for this. Anxious to get this UFO done. Will post finished top hopefully soon.

    I think sashing is in order, and a solid fabric, or something that reads like a solid is best. I think the extra yardage would be great for the backing. I love your blocks and sewing them on point sounds perfect!

    OOOOH love those. are you going to put a sashing inbetween the blocks.? that will be a wonderful quilt.I will watch for it in my mailbox. lol

    I think the additional fabric would get lost on the front...not enough contrast. It would make a great backing, though. Maybe use a dark blue and the gold in your block for borders after you decide on your layout.
