Default Toes in the sand flip flop miniature

First stab at an easy quilt-as-you-go landscape miniature. Was fun to audition fabric from my stash to create the sand and sky (or water depending on how you look at it). I used coloring pages for the raw-edge applique, a little machine embroidery, and a sunny yellow binding to finish it off. Taking it to the fair today.

What a fun wallhanging! Are you entering it into a contest at the Fair?

That came out cute. Was trying to figure out what was in the water in the first photos, but then I scrolled down and saw that it was words. I can remember burying my feet in the sand. No palm trees on the beaches I went to in Southern California.

Roll on summer....how I long to walk along the beach with my toes in the sand again. In the meantime I can enjoy your lovely mini quilt and dream.
