Not too funky at all. I LOVE it. I like your thinking....It will also grow with a child. They are babies for sooo short a period of time. Great colors!

We at my house (four of us), think it is just fine for a baby. Perfect for the little ones that mama does not want to know the sex before birth. I love your color choices.

I think it's wonderful. It's cheerful and interesting for a baby to look at. And as you say, it will grow with the child. It won't be baby-ish when the child ages a few years. I like that it is reversible, too. Good job!
