Quote: OK everyone don't beat me up - but I've got to agree. It is way too masculine for a baby. Donate it to a homeless shelter; they would appreciate it - no matter what the fabric looked like.
What would homeless people do with such a small quilt?

It's a wonderful quilt and I see fantastic, not ugly. Nice change from so many pastels. I know who ever you give it to will treasure it. You've got great fabrics, a wonderful focus print block-what's not to like?

Quote: I asked my hubby what he thought of it as a baby quilt... answer was... "A-1, top of the line". I agree, I think it will be loved and used for years.
Woo hoo... another "keeper" hubby!

I spent two days making this baby quilt for a shower gift for a baby boy, and it turned out HIDEOUS. The bohemian modern look I was going for was an EPIC FAIL. Something about the mix of baby prints with the dark masculine prints just Did. Not. Work.

Hubby has been encouraging me to give it anyway, as it's a nice usable cozy quilt, but is it too darned ugly to give away?
Thank you Robert... How is your wife doing, by the way?

I think it is so cute and will hold up better than light shades. I think you should give it as a gift, only you can make that decision.

You guys all ROCK!

Well I just got home from the baby shower and I did go ahead and give the quilt. The mother loved it, the grandmother loved it, and as the gifts were passed around the room, most of the guests lingered over the little quilt to touch it and look at it closely. So I guess it was a hit, despite my apprehension... The grandmother (my friend) told me those were the mother's "colors", exactly. She said they were so NOT into traditional baby colors, they painted his room gray.

So, okay... Can't ask for better than that. I guess I'm just some kind of perfectionist snob that I didn't think the quilt was gift-worthy... Ha!

I love it...it definitely says "All Boy" and I agree that that it will be a quilt he can use for several years.

I Like It!!! Maybe we are looking for a quilt to put in a box but, if this is to be enjoyed by the lil mister as he learns to walk and goes off to kindergarten than this is the quilt! I really like it, and you should too

I'd certainly give it.

What is so hideous about it? You are way too critical of yourself.
