Well, here goes with a (maybe) crazy idea. If it were mine (I wish) I'd take it apart right at the centre straight line. I'd resew what is currently the top half to the right hand side of what is currently the bottom half and make a wide wallhanging or even a 'scarf' for a twin bed. I like everything about it individually. It just seems like it wants to be horizontal rather than vertical. Couple of darker land-scapy borders and you're good to go...........

Put enough matching borders on it to make a child size quilt and donate it. I don't think it is ugly, it just isn't finished.

personally, I would remove that bottom piece of fabric and replace it with something with a little more color. Add borders and it really won't be that bad, if it lies flat. it is hard to tell in the photo. If it does not lie flat, you may need to do some adjusting to get it that way. But I would not toss it.

I think that it has a heap of possibilities. The suggestions on here are great. I look forward to seeing it when you have used some of them. Nothing is unable to be retrieved. Good luck with it!

I think you did a fine job on the applique- if it was mine I would probably unpick the seams and reuse the animals with just one applique animal on each piece- a laundry or lunch bag etc.

I'd definately go with borders and give it to a boy. There's no such thing as an ungly quilt. Someone will love it.

This has a lot of work in it so I wouldn't totally scrap it. I think you need to take the squares apart and iron them. Then perhaps you will need a few more appliqued squares. I also think it needs some colors that aren't quite so neutral...too many similar colors too close together.

The appliques are very pretty and well done. It has a southwest feel to it too. A few more desert animals, a couple of desert rock formations in clay red or dark brown, a cactus, an arroyo

This could become a beautiful quilt in a desert theme or western theme room.
