    Update on Southwest quilt...

I am a little over half done with the top of my Southwest quilt that I was so concerned about...wondering if it really would look Southwest.

Here is where I am, and even I think it looks Southwest now. Thanks to all who encouraged me to just keep going. And I will just keep going until I am done....

Oh, the pattern is Navajo by Blanche Young, in her book called Tradition with a Twist.

(I don't always mean to have my quilt inspector in the picture, but my sewing room is small and there is no place to put the chair that is out of the picture....and he is nearly on the chair that we share when I sew. Plus, I think he likes to be helpful, I do know he likes to be where I am. )

it's coming out beautiful. what's a quilt room with out an inspector.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

I'm always pleased when Hot Rod is in the picture! Your quilt is coming together beautifully.

I just got that book last night in the mail. What an inspiration.

Love your quilt inspector. Is that a cat mat you made for him? Cute!

Yes, Hot Rod has lots of "cat quilts." I make them just for him. That one is a Bargello...go figure...that is my current craze.

Love your inspector!! Sometimes it take us half of a quilt to see visually before we find our confidence. This has happen to me when making a Bargello. I knew Blanche during my younger days of quilting. Was lucky to have taken a class from her. So much fun. Her favorite quilt shop was M&L (and sister store Jenny's fabric). Always enjoyed seeing her quilts because if you looked closely, she used some of the ugliest fabrics I have ever seen and made them work into a beautiful quilt.

Dina....Now that you have more of it together, it looks more & more Southwest. The colors are stunning. I'm really glad you stuck with it. It is going to be one gorgeous quilt when you're done.
