The Initial recipient was NOT GOOD ENOUGH to receive so a thoughtful & wonderful gift. I beleive you had it right the first time (as far as first recipient was concerned). I believe that the quilt "new that first persons house was not its home". I am so glad that the rightful recipient was so open & thankful for your wonderful quilt.

The best loved quilt is a used quilt.

Have a blessed day/weekend.

I absolutely LOVE that you took the quilt back! I would've have gotten her anything either. Really a store boughten quilt instead of a homemade one???

I think you were right to take it back. Maybe you should ask for the wedding quilt too.

DITTI;
SO GLAD YOU DIDN'T GET ANOTHER GIFT. AND SO GLAD ALSO THAT THE QUILT WENT TO SOMEONE WHO WILL REALLY LOVE AND USE.

I FORGOT: THE QUILT IS ADORABLE. WHY DID YOU CHANGE THE BINDING?

Wow....how could she not appreciate such a charming quilt. I love it. And I wouldn't have gotten her anything else either. Glad it found a loving home.

That's what I was thinking too! I was hoping you were going to say you would also take that wedding gift quilt and exchange it for a 'store bought' one, and then just give her a $20 gift certificate and be done with it. I would LOVE to be making blankets of all sorts of colors and themes for wedding gifts or baby gifts. My husband is the oldest of 10 children, and there are 35 Grand-kids, and 9 Great-Grands. I do not make gifts for any of them any more, I quit many years ago when I got that same "OH" response. And NONE of these in-laws or spouses are interested in any kind of hand-made crafts of any kind, except OUR oldest grand-daughter. Her mother has her in 4-H and thus the introduction into sewing, and she can decide whether she wants to learn more about it, or not. She does have a lap quilt WE made together over Christmas vacation and Easter weekend. I understand she is done and ready to turn in to 4H leader and then county fair. I have pictures which I will post later.

This is a wonderful story! Quilts belong with someone who will appreciate and care for them. I am so glad your quilt found its real home. And kudos to you for not replacing the gift! :)

What a great story! Your quilt is precious and ended up with the correct person. Both the new mom and baby will love it!
