Cool Walking Labyrinth - Truly a labor of LOVE

OMG has this been a labor of love - making this as the top of the duvet cover for my son (age 23). I consider myself a novice quilt top maker, I have never taken quilting classes and like to make unusual quilts or those of my own design. This quilt took a LONG time to make and you really need to measure, measure, measure!

I ended up cutting the fabric as I went along and measured after every seam joining. It is really easy to put things together backwards or upside down but I don't think I did too bad....

I have that pattern squirreled away for when I get up the nerve to try it. Your quilt top/ duvet cover turned out awesome!

You did a wonderful job, love how 3-D it turned out. It looks very complicated and I give you praises for sticking with it and completing it.

Sorry I forgot to put the pattern - it is called Labyrinth Walk and you can order a backissue with the instructions from Quilt Magazine (April/May 2012). The corrections are below. As to whether I would ever do it again - maybe but it would have to be for someone VERY special as this was.

Thank you all for the kinds words - the top came out terrific, the underside is just one of those things well you know.....

That is beautiful and effective and looks to me like you did better than all right. Everything lines up beautifully. I don't think you are a novice.

I will go see my quilt lady who does the work but for the pattern I am thinking of some small circles to give it more texture. Anyone have any ideas?

Novice? With work like that? I don't think so. That's incredible. The 3-D is amazing.
