to start I wanted to tell you that your quilt is beautiful.. the kids art is adorable, you truely have to love the imaginations that they have.. What lesson did you include on this? I am just curious.. was it a math lesson? I think that teaching kids to think of others is a good thing..

I would like to do another quilt with them, perhaps a Downey quilt http://www.quiltsforkids.org or even one that will be a part of our silent auction to benifit our school. In this lesson I would like to include some multiplication facts, area and perimeter of pieces on the cutting board, and "if I start at 4 and my piece is 2 and 1/2 inches wide, where will I cut?" kind of thing. Then "how many squares do I need to make it 'so' wide?"... "how big will it be when it's finished?" (area and perimeter again)... those kinds of questions.

You are so clever and creative. I'm sure your friend will love it. It's a forever one-of-a-kind quilt and who wouldn't like that. I have a feeling that a lot of people are going to want to create their own like yours.
