Default well.. first one done

I am sort melancholy on the project I am working on. I lost my sister to cancer this year and I am working on memory quilts for her grand babies. My inspiration is struggling, but I think of those little faces and I want to give them a little piece of grandma to cuddle with.

This is my first quilt top for little Levi. Quilts that are 100% jeans can be heavy so I mixed this with jeans, sweatshirts, flannels and a couple of tshirts. I could never get the blocks laid out in a way that I liked so I just blindly grabbed them to put the top together. I see things that I would like to change, but the layout is as good as when I tried to plan it. I used jeans for 3" border to frame everything

I think I have a hard time because I want quilts to be "pretty" ha ha and jeans and flannels are not girly and pretty... but Levi is not a girl.

I just wanted to show someone but want to keep the surprise for Christmas. Thanks for looking

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my sister too soon, too. I can see that this endeavor would be difficult at times. The pain of the loss never goes away, but it comes less often with time.

The quilt looks perfect for a little boy. I'm sure he will treasure it.
