I would border with a strip of the white used, the same finished width as the squares are. Then bind with the white. That way your eyes are not distracted from the main pattern, and it holds all those seams together when you bind.

Thank you for the tip. I have a boat load of HST's after messing up a whole bunch of Siggy squares. I may as well use them for something like this.
