    Default First Quilt

I'm in the middle of doing the same thing. This is my first quilt, I had to ignore all the forums that said not to use stretch fabric because a lot of his shirts were stretch. I have gotten off center but I've continued. My daughter will always have Mom's first imperfect quilt from Dad's shirts.

So loving. I'm sure the boys will love them. How about if you tucked a snapshot of dad in the pocket (if the whole thing isn't quilted...just thinking out loud.

The humblest quilts are often the most loved - these quilts will be very very loved and bring back so many warm memories. I love the pockets. I made a small quilt like this of my dad's shirts for my sister, who was just 4 when he died (I was 16). She told me that later on, when she knew how to write that she would write him letters and put them in the pockets.

I have goosebumps looking at it. How thoughtful & what a special gift. They should be forever grateful.

It is so nice of you to make the quilts for your fil's three sons. They will treasure them. Leaving the pockets on is a neat idea.
