You did the right thing! $40 was giving her a really good deal in my opinion! I am so happy it is yours now and it has a good home!

How good a friend of your mothers? If a very good friend, offer the quilt to you mom to give her as a gift! It is something she definitely likes!

If the stain doesn't come out, I'd applique a few scattered fall leaves on the light sections. I might do that even if it didn't have a stain. Beautiful quilt!
