Default Quilt for the travel trailer bed

My travel trailer, like most, has a non-standard bed size 74x80 - shorter than a standard queen. I have been using a really boring comforter, so I decided to make a quilt for it to use as a bedspread. DH noticed a quilt kit (for a totally different quilt!) with the colors he liked, and I quickly calculated there was enough fabric to make what I needed. The kit was mostly well cut strips (all the major color) plus lots of varieties of 1/4 yard cream/tans. I did buy the dark red, and I ended up needing 2.5x6" of the smaller middle border! Luckily I found it on-line, though I had to get 1/4 yard. Everything else came in the kit. I used a wool batting because it is so flexible in both cool and warm weather. I also made just a plain area under the pillows because my DH can not figure out how to do a good pillow tuck! I just did a meander on that part as you can see in the third picture. We will just buy some pretty decorative pillow cases and leave them out. I totally made up the piecing, just played with things on the design wall until I was happy.

Originally I was going to do an all-over design of leaves and flowers, but I changed my mind about 10x10 inches or so. I decided to do just straight lines. I got lots of practice with my rulers since I use a sit down quilter! I particularly like the piano key border.

Very Nice quilt...I also like your quilting. We just bought a slightly larger camper--but still small--and I'm decorating with a quilt I already owned--a colorful pattern my bee made for a guild auction. (I purchased it!) I made curtains out of some pretty bird fabric. The camper came with an ugly black and brown bedspread (really sleezy fabric) and curtains--really just toppers over blinds. We couldn't wait to toss ttose in the garbage. I'm framing some of my bird photos and related art to make it home-y! By the way, I've met some of the nicest quilters camping.

Beautiful quilt! Many pretty colors, and like the pattern.

I will be working on a travel trailer quilt too for my son and daughter in law. This one has to be smaller though, because he is building a tiny trailer for across country trip. She wants a solid color so I am thinking of doing a whole cloth quilt for them, and it will be for their anniversary too. They are having a renewal of their wedding vows.

What is it with trailers/motor homes that cost tens (or hundreds) of thousands of dollars and those nasty bedspreads? Our bedroom is pretty dark which is the reason we went wild with color balanced by the nice neutrals. I like the blinds we have, but the headers may get recovered. We are now talking about what color scheme to add in the other part of the trailer. I am very tired of brown and black.
