Thank you for all a kind posts. I loved to watch Bob Ross in the Morning when the kids were little, that is one of my phrases Happy little accidents.

The pattern is Whirling Star 2

I used two different blacks and the yellow and green from this block. My first attempt with Y seams, took me 4 tries to understand the construction and tricks to getting everything flat. My avatar block is also going in the same quilt as the Wisconsin spinning star. Actually working on that quilt today.
