Yesterday we were pretty much stuck in the house due to a torrential downpour. 11 1/2 inches in one day! My husband took the dogs out for a walk but at one point the water was up to his knees. The bigger dog went swimming, but he had to carry the little one.

Meanwhile, back at home ... I decided to make a little quilted bag. I was inspired by a sweet bag my secret pal sent me in July - and the desire to use up some of the zillions of fabric strips I have. I think it would have been a lot easier using a pattern, but not having one never stopped me before. So, here it is. Don't know if you can see them, but there are little purple beads on the flap. The interior has quilted pockets for cell phone and wallet.

If anyone has a pattern or tutorial, I'd love to see it!

No. Yesterday was one day I was happy that we don't have a basement! Many of our neighbors with driveways that slope down to a garage below the first story didn't fare too well. Next door they had 3 feet of water in their finished basement. Bye bye new carpeting!
