:( Of course you sold the Laurel Burch!! Such a fabulous fabric! Your Mom's bag is so unique! At least you sold something. Try looking around at shops where you can sell on consignment. The owner of the bookstore I have my bags at then ordered more bags cheaper in both quality and price so I am competing with that. The fall season will bring a lot of craft shows. Check your small business organization for names of shops. Maybe even antique shops would sell for you. I have found some wonderful craft items at antique shops. Good luck!

I know some sisters "Four Ole Bags", that have purses for sale at our hospitals Auxillary Thrift Shop. You will do better next time, for they are wonderful purses.

I am so sorry that you did not sell more of your purses. They are gorgeous!!! Have you considered that you need to ask MORE for them? I would charge $75 to $95 each-especially in the DC area. Find a good place (like a fancy boutique) to consign them and see what happens. They will sell-you just need to find the right market. Do not be discouraged-you do great work!!!!

Good Luck - not that you will need it.
Your bags are absolutely fab! I love the Laurel Birch one, just bought some of her fabric & a panel whilst at a quilt show :D I was thinking of making a bag with it. Now you've inspired me.
Wasn't surprised to see you sold it & the denim one your Mum made went too! A shame as I guarantee they would be a hit with all ages. Better tell her to get back to her machine if I were you!
I can't say which of the bags I prefer they are all georgous, just wish I was closer to you to pay a visit to your craft show.
To me $35 - $45 seems abit of a bargain, then again I expect it depends which area you in. Over here a bags like yours would probably sell for £35 - £40 each.
Enjoy your day & lets hope you both come back empty handed! Except of course apart from any items you both purchase.

hello Cordelia, such lovely bags. I am sure you will do well because they are just right for this time of year for carrying lightweight articles.

Cordelia, sorry you did not sell more of them. But I am also glad that you did not lower your price - they are worth every bit of your asking price, or even more. Going to any craft shows? People there usually appreciate good work.

Yeah, we've got Autumn and Christmas craft fairs coming up. My mom has sold a couple of her Christmas Tree skirts each year. It's more than people want to pay, but she's been able to sell a few of them.

She's not making any more this year.

I usually just make table toppers and Christmas place mat settings and table runners. We've made Christmas stockings, but in all the years we've gone to these shows, no one every buys the Christmas stocking.

Most people like to have really nice holiday place settings and decorations for Christmas. And then some people buy the bags for presents.

So, we do better at the craft shows.
