This month I have been working on the woven background technique for smaller pieces. This is an easy way to do different foundations for applique or art quilts. Moosegirl

Lovely quilts & great idea. I've done this with paper before, but didn't think to try it with fabric.

I have not seen this before, it makes a beautiful background. Do you weave strips and then sew them down?

Yes weave the strips and use fusible batt or interface to keep them in place. Your choice if you want them open or stitched.

Cute ideas. I have done some woven backround pieces similar to yours, but never knew what to do with them. Thanks for sharing.
