Cool Quilt. Looks like you're on the mark with organizing to have it all come together.

I have gone online and found tutes to help with the mitered borders. I had to do this one time when I was at my dd and didn't have my books. Worked well.

Looks like a lotta work, but they're beautiful. I like the way you've included black to tone down the brilliant colors. Very creative!!
How wide are the strips? They look pretty narrow, but that shouldn't be a deterrent.

When I saw this quilt in a magazine a couple of months ago, I soo wanted to make one. Even went so far as to go online to order the fabric pack. But it was backordered at the time so I didn't get it and convinced myself it was way too complicated anyway. After seeing yours, I just may go back and order that fabric if I can find the magazine again. Great job. Let us see the finished product.

Got my kit ordered, altho I will have to wait, as they are backordered. That's ok, tho, because I still have 3 to do by the end of May, for which I already have all the fabric I need.

I have a kit that I bought years ago on sale, all cut, that must be that quilt!! It doesn't have the black included, just the gradated colors. I didn't know what I was buying at the time, how funny. Its beautiful. Mitering is easy, don't fret. Easy to say, I know, each time I've done it, I still worry, and each time it goes together great. This past Christmas, I even did a striped, mitered border, so it had to be perfect for the stripes to line up. It went together perfect. You will do fine, and be so proud after!!

Thanks for the mitering suggestions and encouragement. I am going to tackle it this weekend. The kit came with 6 inch squares. I rotary cut an inch and a half off one side then put the resulting 4.5 x 6inch blocks on my Go cutter and cut (4) inch and a half strips from it. So the strips are 1.5 by 4.5. That looks confusing to me, but it made sense when I was doing it. It worked up really fast with the GO. The actual piecing was simple as well. You can find the pattern in the April 2010 issue of McCall's Quilting magazine.
