Great idea! So thoughtful. I have great ideas and never seem to follow through on them.

BTW The girls are adorable! They warm my heart to see such cute kids.

Years ago, I taught 5th grade faith formation on Sunday afternoons. the class lasted 1 1/2 hrs and the last 15 minutes every week, we worked on quilts for the Christian Life Home in Raleigh. It is an unmarried mothers home, where girls and young women stay until their baby is born. We made simple shapes and either tied them or I quilted them once I got home. Usually gave anywhere from 6 to 12 every year to the home. It helps to do project like this, because there is always someone needier than us.:)

Oh Lisa, you and your girls are so wonderful! What a great idea and I know the quilts will be much appreciated!

I have to admit I'm a bit envious. I would have loved for my girls to have been interested in quilting. Now I'm holding out for a grandchild or two who will show an interest and let Grammy (me) teach them everything I know. You are very blessed to have both your girls interested in the quilting process.

Sure looks like you're having a great time. That double knit will make quilts that'll last forever! Trust me!!!
Looking forward to seeing the finished products. Have fun!

Wow!! This was a good family project and great idea! The girls learned a good lesson about helping others too. That is priceless!

The pictures are really sweet. I am glad you shared. This would be a good yearly thing for you girls to do together, Huh? I wish my grandkids lived closer. Lucky you to have them so close.

Thanks everyone for sharing our fun. We sure will post pics of the finished blankets when they're done. We're thinking of piecing the mix-matched blocks into little bags to hold the blankets, but we'll have to see how much time we have left before we do that. Maybe we'll do that to get a jump on next years project LOL.

Tiffany, 2 outa 3 daughters that have a love of sewing isn't too bad huh? LOL The oldest wouldn't touch a sewing machine to save her life. She has a lot of other very artistic talents though, so she's ok. Hopefully her daughter (my sweet gd Hailey) will catch the sewing bug from her two Aunties since they're much closer in age.
