Just proof that if you ask three people you will get three different answers. It probably comes down to which one you like best but #3 would be my choice.

I vote for #1 with applique in the border, it would be awesome. Make sure you post a pic when done, I can't wait to see it.

I like #3, I think the blocks stand out better.

I too, like the mellow look of 2, and think it would look more country. Seems to be closer in value which blends instead of stands out. I like 1 also because the blocks really stand out, but I don't think it looks as country. And I love the idea of a border with applique on it. Anxious to see pics of finished top!! Be sure and post!!

My question is should I go all scrappy for the body and then add a border and maybe do some applique' in it, should I use the 4 X 4 squares with sashing around them or make them larger and do the same and which background do you think would be best or what color would you choose.
Thanks for the input. Scrappy is new to me and I've seen some I really love and some, not so much. If you'd like to add to my stash with small scraps PM me. :?:
How about a thin border of #3 and the outside border of #1.

My vote would be #3 for the sashing, #1 for an inside narrow border, #3 for a larger outside border, and really like your idea of doing some applique on the outer border. Simple vine with some simple flowers and leaves (and continuing in the scrappy theme). You could even scatter a few flowers and leaves on the quilt body. Just a thought.
