I vote for #1. I made pillows (21) in all kinds of colors and patterns for my daughter. White bedspread and kinds of pillows. Days gone by when I could handle a needle.

I think you need to make another one and put the pink on one side of a pillow and the white on the other side and then she can flip the pillow back & forth!
