i am going to relay all of this to my POC at the parent company.
i hope i am correct in believing that all those surveys did not originate within ads approved for display through the QB.

the email from threadloom is approved and sent on behalf of the QB.
they are, indeed, trying a new method and format which - if successful - will replace the old digest emails.
the survey associated to this is to evaluate your reactions to it and to "teach" the selection algorithm to eventually select those posts most likely to appeal to the widest "slice of the subscriber pie."
as is the case with virtually all things of this type, the default will be to subscribe.
if it doesn't interest you, simply make sure to clear that so you don't accidentally subscribe.

That was the one I received too, but to do the survey I needed to sign into a Google account. I thought that was odd.

All of this is such a sad commentary on society. In case we don't think it works just look at last week's news. The FBI broke up a ring that had bilked Medicare out of 1.4 billion dollars in a kick back operation scamming seniors for medical braces etc. I can't tell you how many times I got that call. We never respond to any phone marketeers for any reason. My husbands response is to lay the phone down and let them chatter until they realized that no one is on the other end and hang up.

Thank you for the update Patrice.

I received the survey in my email. No need to log-in but I have a g account so it may have defaulted. It contained no ads for products either.

I was the same. I was going to take the survey but when it sent me to the google log in, I just closed the window. I don't want a google account.

I always follow Nancy Reagan's advice: "Just say no!" to surveys. There are too many scams and the bad people behind them are extremely clever. I always wonder about the good they could do in the world if they changed their evil ways.

We ignore surveys, let the phone go to voice recorder, delete if sales/scam call, make sure our numbers are up to date with the Do Not Call registry, delete and block scamming intrusive emails, block all sales calls on our cells with the free ATT app.....it has reduce a lot of nuisance people....but some still get through. I thought Washington was going to do something about this. All of the phone providers are not interest, since somewhere along the way, they make money.

I received that too. I did not do the survey, because I too did not want to sign in to google. Scrolling to the bottom, I had the choice to offer feedback or unsubscribe. I offered my feedback.

this is the preliminary information i received from my POC:

"The popup they describe should be ignored and not filled out. I'm assuming they are getting this via mobile or pad browsing.

These are hard to identify and remove but I'll do my best to try to re-create and report to our ad team.


The threadloom survey should not be requiring users to have a google account. I'll talk to [her] and have her adjust the permissions for the survey."
