[QUOTE=Marich52;7265837]Love your wallhanging Judy. Are your corner blocks paper pieced?

I haven't posted in awhile as I was busy creating more UFO's...lol. Declared July as a no new start month...only finishes. Will post some pics soon as I have made good progress. I'm almost done with a quilt that has taken me 4 years to finish....binding going on now......yippee!

Marilyn, it is hard to see in photo but everything but borders are triangles ..including the tan background area. I really think it was an Eleanor Burns pattern..but can not really remember. I took a class at LQS and did most of it in class. I sold several quilt books last year and Eleanor's Kaleidoscope in a Day was among them.

I feel so good today!!! I finished a quilt top I started in August of 2011. It was originally going to be a quilt for my son as a house warming gift after buying his first ever home in 2011. I am so proud of him! Well, things go in the way ( like other quilts) & I never got to finish his quilt. Since moving into his home after my husband passed & I retired, I wanted to finish my UFOs. As it turned out, my son doesn't like red ... bummer. He likes blue. Well, I also have another UFO & it happens to be in blues! Nothing like lucking out! I love this red quilt & am happy to claim it as my own! If any of you have the American Patchwork Quilting June 2001 Issue 50, it can be found on page 58. The pattern is of an antique quilt. Now I am working on the backing. Have lots of the red fabric, so I thinking of enlarging the pattern pieces and incorporating them into the backing. I'm so excited!! Note: the "snake" by the fireplace in one of the pictures is rubber. One of my son's "toys" ... aren't all men little boys at heart?!

Weasie: That so deserved to be finished. It is a gorgeous quilt! The way the border is part of the pattern really looks great. Congratulations on a beautiful finish.

Very striking, weasie. It can double as a Christmas quilt as well.

Default finished backing for red & white quilt

Finished the backing this morning for my red & white quilt. I enlarged the block pattern pieces and the block finished at 26" square. (Block size int the top is 10" square.) Actually could use the 26" size as a table topper in different fabrics. Ah ha! Now it's all ready to go to the quilter!!!! What a relief!

I've been trying to avoid creating new UFOs - that's not going so well this year. But I have finished up a couple of older projects this week, and it's so nice to get them off the list.

The first one was a challenge at a retreat in April 2014. I added the top/bottom border to make it a rectangular quilt. And now finally finished quilting and bound it.

The second has only been aging since January. It was Merry Mayhem's New Year's mystery this year.
