Deliberatly went to LQS today. One of the bought fabrics is already cut and that project is ready for quilting.
Bought some extras because I'm sure they're needed for combining to finish other projects. And all were on the 1/2 price table.

What technique are you using for these "ropes"???? Especially the second one. How did you make that?

Ck- those are awesome! I started making clothesline trivets and bowls late last year after having the clothesline and lots of stings on hand in my todo pile for several years. The technique I’ve been ising looks like it’s similar to the last one you pictured- wrapping the strings of fabric around the clothesline and then zigzagging, but your other pieces look like you’re using a different technique- I’d love to hear how they were done!

Hey all, I posted a pic. in the pictures section of my latest art quilt. It's made 100% from stash, the large piece of green fabric that makes up the background and also got used for the backing was a piece of home dec fabric (possibly linen) that came from my grandmother's house and is at least 20 years old. All the small scraps that are stitched to it were leftovers from quilt or home dec projects that I did over the years, some of those are from 20-30 years ago YIKES! The blue on the outside is scraps of batting that I painted (that was a fun project). Anyway, I forgot to get it's measurements because I needed to get it to the gallery by their Thursday deadline for a show that's opening tonight LOL! if you get a chance take a look. I had fun doing it.

And still haven't bought any new fabric this month. In fact, I just went through an looked and I haven't bought any fabric since Jan. 7 and that was bought specifically to make the borders for my temp quilt (which is still on hold) so officially, I have not purchased any fabric for stash this year!

Rob...very cool creation....I rocked with Bob today....so funny.... And, good job on purchases. You do like to keep fabric for years, don't you? Lol! 20 to 30 years old? OMGoodness....I just threw out fabric that I used to make curtains in my first apartment eons ago (don't ask...lol!). Little cherries on white. It was so thin I could count the threads. Well...I was on a budget back then so I got what I got. Gave me so many memories to see that fabric. I suppose it is the same for you.

Today I had a 1st for me. I went on a 4 shop - shop hop and only bought a $15.00 tee shirt. Not that I didn’t want to buy out the stores. Just that I I didn’t need anything but backing and background fabric. Just didn’t take the time to look seriously. I need to continue to work on my UFO’s and WIP’s. I have 6 projects that just needs to be quilted and bind if needed. Depending on how I finish them. I decided my weekend project to clear off my quilting table and set up a small quilt to quilt. I’ll check out the quilting on the machine. I need to kick out my kitties out of my sewing room to do this.

I like all the quilting projects. So pretty and nice. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.
