You guys are doing great....and welcome, Conchalea! Looking forward to seeing your runner. It will be special coming from mom"s stash. I finished the mystery scrappy and only had to purchase the black border since I didn't have that in stash...land the black fabric purchase was a travel exception. Suppose to rain this week, thank goodness, so I'm holding off on going LQS till later in the week. I will do as oksewglad suggests and only purchase the WOW. I've been busy making the blocks for the Sylvia Bridal Sampler...I've made 40 out of 140 blocks so far. And, I'm having a blast so not bored yet. Gonna keep going before I start another project but I've got. QOV I need to do so may start cutting that up. It's another panel quilt using the panel I bought at Road to Calif.

Welcome, Conchalea...The point is to use the fabric we have...not so much as to quit buying fabric.

Here's the Mini I made from scraps..I had trouble finding enough grays in my small scraps, but I did!

This is another one I gave to a guild friend...minimal use of stash using 1 x 3/4" of fabric strips

A lady at Sew Group had a piece her mother bought. She died 40+ yrs ago. It was marked $.97 and was about 2 yr. and the stores been closed ~50 yrs.

Another lady said a sewer who can no longer sew, gave her stash to this lady. If filled tables in the fellowship hall for a sale day.

Serious stash.

Today, cut strips for 6 rail fence charity quilts + backs. That's 15 yds. Today, after I get some sleep (it's 1:23am) I'll sew the strip sets. Then Thursday cut and sew the squares at another Sew Group.

Rob: sewing those 1/day charity quilts in groups. But I'm making progress on the stash. Today I saw another pattern that would use up pieces smaller than 1/2 yd. This is very good.

Thank you for the welcome! I plan to work on the runner today, plus complete a second pillow from more of my mom’s stash. Those are her UFOs so I will post them on the 2018 UFO Challenge thread when I complete them.

Petthefabric, what pattern did you find? I have many short lengths of fabric I’d like to put to a good use.

I also bought the stitch regulator and would not spend that money now. The machine is so easy to use.
Thanks for the info Martina. Good to know about the table. At this point I think I’ve played with sit downs from: HQ (sweet16), Babylock (Tiara), Viking (Platinum), APQS (George), Juki (2200- the big one), Janome (the one that is like Tin Lizzie’s), Martelli, Innova and Bernina. I don’t like any of the stitch regulators (not even the Innova or the Bernina) I really prefer using my foot to control machine speed and matching my hands to that in order to get the stitch length I want (old habits die hard I guess).
