Not sure, but... I am thinking crosshatch on the red border, sitd yellow border, outline the stars, and feathers in the neutral rectangles and setting triangles. I keep looking at the 4 patches between the stars and want to treat them as one unit. That leaves the center squares and the areas surrounding those squares - no ideas there yet.

Here's my progress. I'm a bit of a slow poke but I'm plugging away - - -
Of course, I'll do some rearranging of the blocks and will definitely be using some brighter yellows.

Jane, I love it that you went scrappy. After traveling to NY for a few days for work, I needed to bond with my sewing machine so I finally assembled 7 (of 30) star blocks from my pile of 30 gold 4-1/2" squares... only 27 more to go plus 20 red. I'll just keep plugging along. : )
