Good day everyone. I hope everyone had a fanstic Thanksgiving. After work mine was fine.
I have all of my fabric washed and ironed. So I'm ready to cut and sew my 225 4 sqs. I'm so excited to begin our adventure together in this mystery. Later this week I will post pics. Happy sewing everyone.

joes mom - i do as all2pieces does...take out a few stitches...doesnt have to be all the way, just so you are able to open up the intersection...if you lay out all your sewn blocks so the pieced seams lay east/west...have the 1 big seam run north/south, then on each one at the intersection of the east west, just twirl the seam a little with your fingers, you will then see the seam start to come apart & you will get 4 small pieces drop out of the way & the block lays very flat...it takes a while, but it will happen...i just finished doing this to 75 blocks placed in a 4 patch pinwheel...really cuts down on the bulk in the center...clear as mud im sure...let me know if you need help, i w/try to explain better...

I was going to use just one fabric for each option, but I like the idea of mixing up another neutral into the mix so I was happy to see this clue!! I was bummed to exclude the butter yellow fabric so it's my new add on neutral! Now to keep hoping my one "maybe not enough" fabric. No luck yet in the in search of section.
As far as her blog goes, I just started reading her blog again and just started getting updates this week. There are so many updates I can't keep up and I tended to just let them sit in my inbox waiting and waiting. I do prefer it when craft bloggers have different blogs for family/political/ personal. But like someone said- it's Bonnie's blog to use as she wishes.
Let the quilting start!!

My daughter and SIL and grand-babies were here for Turkey Day, so I got a late start on my MQ.
All I have to say is "Thank goodness for my AccuQuilt GO and 2 inch strip dies!!" Stopped for a little bit to have some leftover turkey, and hubby left about an hour ago to go hunting. Then back to cutting and stitching strips!!
I'm mixing my neutrals, trying to make them random, and not too many of the same "pairs". We'll see how it goes. This is my first mystery, so I'm trying to be even more careful than usual. I probably won't get all 221 done tonight though. While I absolutely ADORE the grands (they're 2 1/2 and 7 months old) they can certainly wear me out!
Can anyone tell me how often Bonnie posts the clues? Is it every day? Every week? and for how long? All the way through to New Years? Just wondering... as I said, this is my first mystery.

I have no pics of 4 squares to post today, mine are going to be boring mostly black anyway. When I get them sewn, I will post pics, boring and all though. But today this is what I've been up to. I am thrilled w/ how it turned out, so glad I switched up the colors. My points aren't perfect but it's so busy it works. The binding will be the bright blue in the quilt, however if I waited to take the pic I would have lost the light. The backing is a horse print that reminds me of gingerbread men cookies. I assembled and quilted QAYG.

I was just going to use one fabric for each color, and only one neutral. After reading the first clue I am debating about adding one more neutral as she gave that as an option to just cutting the 3 1/2" squares. Anyone else have thoughts on this?? Not sure what to do.

The clues will be posted each Friday morning until the reveal. I've done the last two mysteries, and if memory serves, both had their reveal on New Year's Day. Then people work on the quilt at their own pace. Grand Illusion I didn't finish until April, but last year I finished in February.
Kassaundra, that turned out beautiful! I'm so glad you were able to use your horse fabric as the backing. Great job!

Your fabrics are so pretty, Jeanne, I think either option is going to look good. Do you have 1 1/2 yd. of a neutral you really like, that looks good with your other colors?
