I have a la pass rosette that is b/w and red looking at it in full color it is stunning the red center star shines. It has great contrast / value / whatever you want to call it up close or from a distance. However when you convert it to b/w image you lose all the detail that you can clearly see in color. That is a long way around saying I agree the b/w thing isn't always right.

CGS, what a lovely selection you have pictured there! Looking forward to see the result of your shopping trip for the neutrals. :-)

This sounds like fun and is love to join in but....
I just had major door surgery today and will be non weight bearing for 6 weeks (aka. No sewing for 6 weeks) 😂😂😂
I checked out the web site and the Bonni hunter ruler I need is in back order from her site and Amazon. (I javelin the other rulers ...in my Amazon cart)

My questions are
(1) Is this weekly or monthly? I ask b/c on her weep site it said there would be clues every Friday to download. So this confused me ( as most things are these days being on pain meds and all 😊😊😊&#128540
(2) Can I still join?
Thanks for the help.....I'm going to very needy the next few weeks, hubby even took off for 2 weeks to help me! 😍😍😍

Laquita -- I'm mostly a lurker, but I can't resist responding to your very entertaining post! I've made 3 of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilts and I've always enjoyed the process. This one's going to be lap size. First -- what in the world is door surgery? If you can't sew for a while, just print out the clues and make it when you're able. Maybe you can do all the cutting first. Bonnie says you don't need the special ruler -- just the easy angle and the other one she's used for other mysteries. The clues arrive weekly, starting the day after Thanksgiving and I think ending Christmas day or maybe the day before or after Christmas. Hope you have a very speedy recovery!

LAQUITA: Honey, your auto-correct had a heyday with your post! I knew from before that you were having FOOT surgery, not door surgery! Just rest up and let that foot heal. You will be able to get all of Bonnie's clues for probably at least a month after it ends. They come out weekly and stay up on her website for a while. Lots of people start late. Some wait to see what the quilt will look like before deciding to join in.

I suggest subscribing to Bonnie's blog posts at Quiltville. That way you will not miss anything. Also, she tells us well in advance before she takes the pattern down to be published. You can download all the clues for free anytime before then.

I went to Hobby Lobby today after work to look for some teals, did not have enough and the few I had skewed towards green instead of blue. Anyway the colors I decided on were dark and light teal, black, white, and grey, my constant was going to be a red fabric I had used in a boom swap and I was going to try and figure out a way to incorporate both ideas. (just a little background) so as I am scouring the isles for teals do you know what I found?????? A red background fabric w/ black/white/grey tiny cats!!!!!! I must have blacked out or something b/c when I got home in my Hobby Lobby sack there were two teal fabrics and that cat fabric!!!!!! lol

Here are my two options. I need to decide whether to stick to my original red constant or the cat red. Then I need to decide if the white will be the neutral or the black.

That kitty fabric is so cute, Kass... and goes well with your gray and black.

I love it when people sub colors, and seeing how that comes out. I always think I'll do that and then chicken out.

Kass, I like the kitty fabric for your constant. Depending on how small the pieces are cut your other choice could have areas of black rather than red. Love your other choices. I have that gray in my stash, one of my favorites.

Love seeing everyone's fabric choices! When I got to this thread today, it moved me. Yes it moved me to begin pre-washing my greens!

I need to re-read Bonnie's article about the neutrals. I am still having issues with selecting those.

Yowza, 10 days!!!!!!!
