[QUOTE=Anael;6766621]Mirabelle, when are you starting your Nearly Insane??
GG, I didn't hear you........LOL
Oh lets see, finish 50 Stars , Sylvia's Bridal Sampler, Vice Versa BOM, lets not forget the QOTS Miniatures and then there is Jane, staring at me from the design wall. Start quilting Darkness, and I have become in another project after going to patchwork yesterday, how does 2016 sound just don't let QuiltE start twisting my arm, I have a low pain threshold and I am such a sucker for a challenge
pssttttt I have checked out the book and even given some thought to fabric but its a secret don't tell anyone

I so admired your board I thought I'd get out all my blocks and put them up and pat myself on the block, oops I mean back, but now I think I need a smack to the block.
I have done in total, 98 blocks, HOWEVER and this is a big one. I duplicated 2 in different colours, and there are three blocks, very well done that have nothing to do with any of the DJ blocks. I think it was a very long winter. I'm glad I did get them out. ( Maybe I'll cheat and stick in those orphans. Only another DJ obsessor (fool?) would spot them?) Ya think?
LOL
And I was getting so smug!

Yeaaaaaaaaa MaryK ... 98 DONE!!!!!!!!!
Oh that's a pretty one ... the fabric is kind of neat with the stripes and the shadings. Good choice!
You can join me ....... I am not a purist, and there will be some added in blocks, just because I like to hav emy own spin on things! Likewise, mine is not going to be a traditional setting, so let the purists bash me. My quilt ... my way!!! So, with that done ... did you sit a spell and make another block or perhaps two, to cross the 100 line?
So being that you have yours all on display now ...... I think we need a new picture!!!!
MiraB ...... with those 36 hr days, I am sure in no time you will be on to Instant Insanity!!!
So what are the thoughts about colours/fabrics for it?

ok here are my thoughts on fabric for Insanity !!!
Small prints are essential as we all know, so do I go radical and use any of the following
1930's mmm not such a big fan but mayve
Robert Kaufmann Fusions range mmm might be a bit tooooo different
Scrappy from my stash mmmm I don't have a lot of small prints mainly tone on tones
OR do I bite the bullet and purchase a fq bundle of Civil War fabrics
Suggestions and or opinions PLEASE

What is in DDDsstash??
.................. steal from there!
(DDD = Dear Darling Daughter)
Or what about a two colour combo ...... white and red? white and yellow? etc?
Or how abut the new Fusions ... oh darn, forget what they are called!
Is it Fern Leaf? or Meadow something?
I'm not that familiar with Civil War fabrics .... but aren't a lot of them larger prints?
Would one FQ bundle be enough?
I'm thinking those itty bitty pieces and lots of seams, would require a lot of fabric.

I tried to do a link to Keepsake Quilting but it wouldn't work
They have a nice range of CV fabrics and 40 fq's to a bundle which would give me a good starting point... DD's stash it not what I would use too many bright fabrics, although I can always check it out when I am there next.
See this is what happens, I overthink too much now I am off to the sewing cave to finish off a few things.. and lets not forget I bought the Omigosh quilt pattern which is now on my radar...
Can someone please tell me why there are so many beautiful quilts that I want to make????????
