Giant Scrappy Swoon Quilt Along
#363

So, I've been lurking in the background, wishing I had time to join you here. Then my quilting buddy Fraew, challenged me to use 1.5" postage stamps I'd gotten from Mariposa's swaps and make a swoon wall hanging for our May mini.
I couldn't decide on colors... So I gathered my stamps to see what I had. Well...I found my tin of 1" stamps and they just called me! The color I had the most of was pink. And I got it in my head to do parts of mine scrappy. While my good machine made new golf towels for my daughter's team I started my swoon on a junky Singer. The center of the star measured 4.25".
I finished the five golf towels and spent Saturday and part of Sunday finishing my baby swoon so I could bind and hand quilt it between my daughter's golf game this week in Orlando.
I have to mention, and I hope you don't mind me bragging, her team got to the golf course today and discovered they'd picked my daughters photo to put on all the banners!!! I'm not sure if that will add pressure or luck, but the whole team was excited!

Working on my swoon this week, I decided to go ahead and make all of the yellow 9-patch squares I needed, so that I could make sure they stayed scrappy and I had a good mix leftover for the next steps. So, I guess I have the next step done too. All sewn together and ready for the final round of blocks.
I'd love to do another similar quilt (I have a ton of scraps left of course). Anyone have ideas for other blocks that would work well like this? I thought about ohio star, but would like something a bit more interesting in large size.
