How nice that you were able to do this quilt for your son ... and I'm sure he appreciates having "home" a little closer to him at times. Hope that you will now create a new patriotic "something" along with us here on this thread. Maybe something for you this time ??.... perhaps leftovers from his for a special connection when you can't be with him?

Hello Ladies

Taking a few rest days to from all the traveling these past two days. We are suppose to hear Monday if we get the house in Lafayette Tuesday I am picking up the Patriotic Mystery Quilt from the LAQ. Then I will work on the binding and can show off my finished quilt.. I purchased the book Quilts for Rosie and Im thinking of joining the quilt along when it begins still on the fence though until I see the patterns. Have a wonderful day and safe travels for those on the road.

Jenniky ... yea to your new thread/challenge! I won't be a serious player for now, though will join the thread as I want to learn all I can! I hope that today was only good news about your new Home Sweet Home!

DublB ... Lots of work? Glad that you took some downtime to enjoy the sunsets!

Nursie ... how's your DD doing? Any chance of you flying over to visit her?

QuiltE - We are still waiting to hear. I called earlier to verify they had received all the paperwork which they have. The rep said they would call us most likely at the end of the business day. Im thinking that means I will hear from them tomorrow. It's ok though, I have lots to keep me busy. If its not meant to be ... oh well... Im sure something better must be waiting around the corner. We will just have to go looking at more places. We really did not expect to find such a perfect match for us on the first place we visited.

Oh Jenniky ... I know the sitting and waiting is horrendous, but please don't consider it a no-go yet. Remember to them, it's just another house and what do they care about timing details. I wonder if people like that, have any sense of this when they are house-shopping? Or if it's just another house ..............

Whereas to you, it's the perfect home and hopefully we'll only hear good news!

QuiltE: Thanks for asking about DD. She has been back in Auckland for a week or 2 and other than the fact that she got a cold right after her return, she is doing well and finishing up her Masters Thesis. She did find a good infectious disease doc to follow up with, so that makes me happy. We have been in NZ 2 times, and probably won't be back before she returns to the states. However, she will be home at end of September for her older sisters wedding. Oh, and that DD is having carpal tunnel surgery on Thursday. These offspring will be the end of me yet! lol

Jenniky - Sounds like a great challenge and although I won't be able to participate fully, I certainly will be watching avidly from the sidelines! Best of luck with ur home. DH and I will most likely be house hunting within the next year. Maybe you can give me some tips.
