Reba, that is so cute. With the dark blue squares at the corners of the stars, it takes on a look similar to the Farmers Daughter Block in the Lori Holt farm quilt. I’m saving your quilt photo to my quilts wish list folder.

I had all of those leftovers on my cutting table and I couldn't bear to put them all away to save for later, so I buckled down and used up as much as I could. I'm going to give it to my son who is a civil war enthusiast, the parchment fabric is a map of the battle of Gettysburg. Hugs all!

Well, shoot! I was having the most enjoyable, relaxing time tonight working on Mayhem, and then I realized I had forgotten to switch to the yellow fabric for the star points. So I guess I'll be sticking to my original D fabric, but I don't mind that much. It may be a bit bland, but the contrast is good so the pattern should work out. This sure is a fun quilt to make!

Here is my Merry Mayhem. I'm pleased with the way the fabrics worked out. My measurements were horrendous, though. Not only was it 3/4" smaller than it should have been, it was cinched at the midpoints and fanned out at the corners, so much so that I had to try and square it up before adding the final border (I'm unsure of how/why this happened). The four small corner stars did not blend well with the border fabric, so I had to leave them off. I have an awkward placement of the bottom border; I think I had meant to put it the other way, then changed my mind on the spur of the moment. It didn't occur to me to then reassess where I was going to cut it. DH said it is 'one of my nicest quilts' (he is not a BH or scrappy fan).

Joe's mom, that came out great! I love the colors and how they the together so nicely. Very pretty! It was worth the wait to see it. I think the red in the medallion really pops and brings out the red in the borders. I'm glad you didn't end up using the yellow. 😁

Thanks, Sharongn! (I feel the same way about the yellow.)

Joe’smom.....it is really a beautiful quilt. The border fabric brings out all the colors. Nicely done!
