It’s funny that fabric A is only for the outside border. If it doesn’t relate somehow to the center of the quilt, it could end up sticking out like a sore thumb.

Someone pointed out earlier that the description for fabric A said, 'including outer border,' so that does sound like we will be using more of it somewhere else in the quilt.

vadalia, thanks for the link! Her fabrics certainly are interesting. Can't wait to see her quilt (do we get to see her quilt?).

    .
But when you read the cutting directions, it says to cut 4 strips for the outer border and that's it for Fabric A. I supposed it's possible she will have us cut more from those strips for the center. Hope so, as I really like my Fabric A.

I was thinking she will have us cut something from the remainder of A (trying to remember what I had left of fabric A).

You're welcome and, ya know, that's a good question. I actually don't think we got to see her example quilt last year, which is the only year I've done. I double checked the reveal PDF I have saved and the Facebook posts from last year and the only thing we get is a computer generated image of a final quilt. I couldn't find any pictures that say it's of her sample quilt, although they could have been on some page that's since been taken down and I just don't remember it. Bummer. Although, last year the size was variable so maybe she didn't want to post just one size's example and confuse people?

There is the Step 2 that's supposed to come out around Christmas Day. I wasn't sure if we're supposed to take that as Step 2 of the cutting instructions or just a completely separate Step 2. She may not have wanted to give away details of the medallion too soon, although Teen makes a good point about the big square for Fabric C possibly being the focal point since it's bigger than anything else we've cut out. Only time will tell!

I believe I will be passing on this one unless I start feeling a lot better than I am right now. I may just pull each quilt instruction as t hey are posted to do it at another time.

I participated last year and liked the end result. It made a wonderful gift for my sister in law.
I’m going to go with it this year too. I recently purchased some of the Solana collection. Here is what I have so far. I’d welcome input.
