Merry Mayhem New Year Day Mystery

As I said before, I am having a lot of trouble with this one as I am just not a print, much less a med/large print, kinda girl.
I ended up buying a large print and it's co-ordinating med print for A and B and the other one is for the "very light", I think it's D. Still have to fill in the rest, I have no idea how I'm going to find another print that goes with A. The rest can come from my stash in golds and pinks. I'm not real confident how this is going to come together, but it will be fun.

Watson....those are perfect... The first 3 fabrics are the toughest. At least for me it was....once you got that, you should find blenders easy enough for those gorgeous fabrics.. I’m with you...have no idea what end result will look like..

Teen, lol Your 'that's why I suck at mystery quilts' remark gave me a chuckle. I don't do well on them either. I have such a hard time choosing fabrics. Maybe I should just stick to solid colors for mysteries. Those quilt usually seem nice at the end... My C is my least favorite of my 3 prints, so I hope it's not the focal point ...

Blueridgebeverly, love that Fabric A! Reminds me of warm summertime! I can almost feel the summer breeze blowing through my hair when I look at that
Watson, it looks like there's a gold (?) threadlike accent to your fabrics? If so, I love accents like that, it really adds a little something extra to give it that "wow" factor. I've got little gold circles accents on two of my fabrics, can't wait to see how it turns out.
I've been googling images of medallion quilts because I wasn't familiar with them prior to this and I'm feeling reassured. I have yet to see one where my reaction was "boy, I do not care for this at all"- apparently I'm a fan of the style? And it looks like there's possibly potential to make the quilt bigger if I really like it (something I was bummed I couldn't do last year because I ran out of the fabric to make more blocks!) Apparently with this style you can just... keep adding borders lol. Obviously that's not universal but I've seen a couple that I'd be hard pressed to tell you where the inner quilt design ended and the borders began.

Givio...I’ve never done a solid fabrics only quilt but those are often so eye catching. Kona released the 2021 Color and it’s really a beautiful shade of blue... about the only thing I feel good about in this mystery is that it is all from stash...lol..so, no biggie if it doesn’t work out. We will have a quilt when all is said and done....mine may be ugly but won’t be the first time...lol..

The only thing I could see being an issue is the same problem I had with my original picks (way back at the top of page 13) where some of the D-F2 fabrics might end up overwhelming your Fabric A because they have a bit bolder patterns (love that E1!) Ultimately it might work out fine if Fabric A only turns out to be used as the outer border and not a true focus fabric but it just might be something to keep an eye out on. I really like the tan & brown color palette with the pops of lovely blues & greens & purples!
