Oh my goodness!!
OhCanada, I just love all these "little" finishes you're doing!! They are SO CUTE!! Rob, I agree with Fraew, you're really shaking up our perception of just what a "quilt" really is!! And now... drum roll, please.... For your viewing pleasure, I hereby announce my first finish for March... the Rainbow Lonestar!!! Since this is about 60" square, this will be my new grand-daughter's "lovely"... when she gets here in April. I think this is just small enough that she will be able to drag it anywhere. However, I'm really disappointed with my outer border - I measured and measured and it STILL went wonky on me!! Which is why I'm going to tell my daughter - let this be her lovely, that she can drag around - because this is not good enough to be "special". Maybe the "embroidered animals" will be her "special" quilt. Leta |

Can't wait to see it!! Leta |
leta, that I is a beautiful finish. I have a lonestar waiting in the wings.

Leta..lovely rainbow...may I add that a little quilting in the outer border might have helped? Your quilting is so precise and intricate in the center...it might have contributed to the problem...just an observation...
rryder..love the crumb quilt and the dot to dot quilting. A few years ago I made a wonky log cabin table runner and zig-zagged straight stitches across the quilt top. Your stitching reminds me of that one I gave away... |
leta -- WOW! That is gorgeous. I love how the grid quilting looks with the curved motifs.

Leta! Your rainbow Lonestar is gorgeous. The colors and quilting are wonderful. I think oksewglad hit the nail on the head in terms of the borders.

I thought about buttonholes but I've never done them so I passed on that. I did free motion quilt around the holes for a stay stitch so I wouldn't have to worry about the batting coming through. It doesn't show because of the edge on the bulbs. I'm happy about it except that one of the bulb wires isn't long enough and wrinkles the quilt. I'll have to rework that part of the wiring. But I say finished. One UFO for March. At least I think it is one.

What a beautiful quilt Jaba! I love the colors and the points on the border.
OhCanada- nice towels and potholders-- they would be perfect in my kitchen! Did you hand appliqué them or are they machine appliqué? Either way, the stitching is beautiful. Rob |
