My condolences for your losses JuanitaBean. Your finished quilt is lovely, it looks like it would be nice to cozy up in.

Some of you may see some of your fabric scrap you gave me over time. (10" Sq. Swaps and SP, mini quilt)

This has not been a good month for me I lost a brother and my son-in-law mother and then my sister in 3 week. I'm thankful I have a God that helps use through these thing.

Janice I don't know how you keep up with the count. It seems to me to be a big job. Appreciate all your effort and time you spend keeping track of all us hoarders of UFOS.

A week or 2 and I will have two UFOs done. I just need to sew the binding on by machine. A weekend project I hope if life doesn't get in the way.

Fyi: judy's mystery train is leaving the station this Saturday. She has given out the fabric information. Cutting and sewing step 1 starts on Saturday. I plan to make this one. I know it's not a UFOs, but it can become one, LOL

Woo hoo! Another passenger on this train ride we're on. Glad you've hopped aboard Dragon! Welcome.

Hello! New here! And I mean to this side of Quiltingboard.com, been on the Vintage Sewing Machine board for a while but decided to visit ;)

Posting my UFOs here to doubly ensure my honesty on completed projects.

Stary Night quilt, queen, deadline wheneves
Brigid's Cross quilt, queen, deadline wheneves
Mjölnir and Brigid's Cross quilt (double sided), baby, deadline soon
Red Pentacle quilt, lap, deadline wheneves
Green quilt, lap, deadline Yule
7 more gift quilts to make for family, lap (UFO in the sence that I know I need to make them, though they haven't been started,) deadline Yule

The green quilt is about 1/3 done with FMQ. The other named quilts are cut and the sewing started. The 7 more gift quilts need everything done: fabric picked, cut, pieced, FMQ, trimmed, and binding. Whew! That's actually a lot of quilted gifts. My stash will be shriveled! That's a good thing, but I will miss having all those possibilities neatly folded in tubs just for me.

I finnished a pink lap quilt for the Yule pile, so go me, but it doesn't count for here because it was done before I joined in. Just gimme a big toot when the green quilt is done, eh? :)

Oops, I said I'd post the figures last night but I got busy playing with a new block and the time flew!

Since my last post, we've had several more finishes for April, seven to be exact. Kudos to Silliness, Letawellman, Granny2cc, Retiredteacher09 and Zozee. Toot, Toot!!! That brings April's total UFO finishes to 49! I hadn't expected the number to be so high but the mini-challenge we had in the first week of April really gave us a good start. So, with no further ado, the total for the year through April is 217!

Way to go everyone! Let's see if we can keep this train rolling in May. I'm sure as the weather continues to warm up, the draw to go outside increases but don't forget about your UFOs if you have a rainy day. Thanks to all who had a finish or are working on theirs.

No trick to it Sweet, I just sit at my computer 24/7, waiting for a post and then I log it in Xcel, write it on a chalkboard and then on the palm of my hand so I always have my tally with me.

Nah, not really. I just keep a running log, including the number of the last post and make sure I reread all of them since, trying to pick-up the finishes. I do occasionally miss posts, especially if I'm distracted or in a hurry, so if at anytime someone spots an error, PLEASE don't hesitate to PM me. It has happened and it will happen again before the year is out.

Janice you do a GREAT JOB. Thank you for all your hard work and keeping it together.

Janice McC 05-06-2016 08:58 AM

Thank you and you are welcome.

But it's all of you who are doing the work. Going through your UFOs, working on projects that were set aside and giving them an opportunity to become real. (Who remembers the Velveteen Rabbit?) By pulling them out from storage, you make them real quilts, or table toppers, or wall hangings, or even pot holders. I just run the numbers, and work on an occasional UFO myself. :)
