I thought a wild hair was really a deranged rabbit with bad spelling. lol
To be honest, I have been known to react to my wild hair from time to time. |
Update on our mini-challenge: While I'm thrilled at any and all UFO finishes, the mini-challenge is a bit behind. I must admit I've had little time to send encouraging posts out into the cyberworld but we've had some intrepid passengers who have sallied forth and found time to complete a total of 12 finishes this month anyway. So far, our finishers are Kwiltkrazy, Silliness, Sync, RetiredTeacher09, Fraew, Altairss, Madquilter and LTeacherGeorge. Thank you for your finishes and congratulations! We still have 10 more days so we might be able to pull it off yet. The goal is 30 finishes in September. Well, maybe not...but...

I'm hoping to get sewing this week...supposed to rain here through Friday night...not going to get yard work done so might as well be productive....

I have had to work on some non UFO quilts that have deadlines. It doesn't look good that I will be able to contribute any more UFO finishes until October.
By the way, I love seeing the last few finishes. Great to hear that we have 12 for the month. |
mini-challenge-- I'm working on the quilting for eldest granddaughter's xmas present as we speak. Should have it finished and bound by Monday, (earlier if I stop playing on the computer:D). This one has been like pulling teeth, it is the tessellating pinwheels/twister UFO that I lost interest in. Now I'm finding the quilting to be incredibly tedious---and there are so many interesting things to do beside sitting down and just finishing up the quilting on the inner borders and one of the wide outer borders, but every time I sit with it for more than a few minutes I find myself suffering from ennui .

Hopefully soon Janice. No time right now for sewing, I'm packing and trying to organize what is going to Florida for the winter. It's taking more thinking and planning on my part than what I really had figured. Every time I go into a room I think "I need to take that"....

I pulled out my next UFO and it's already giving me a challenge! Lol! I didn't circle if I was doing size 1 or size 2 and when I figured that out I realized I had cut too much for one part of the background and not any of another part. :) At least I had all of the fabrics still in the same drawer and enough to cut more pieces.
I almost decided to put all of the cut pieces into my 2.5" drawer thereby eliminating the UFO but I really like the pattern. To complicate matters further, I decided to make it smaller so I need to write down how many blocks I need for each color. Why do we make things so hard sometimes? Connie |

Connie You can do it, Rob. You're almost there! Picture your granddaughter receiving her quilt to spur yourself on. |

After moving the half finished Christmas stocking out of my way for the third time this week it hit me this would be an easy UFO to finish. I had made a couple of these for family last year and every time I finished one got asked for another so started another as an extra but did not have anything suitable for a lining. But since I did now I went ahead and finished this little UFO up and its already claimed lol. All made from left over scraps.

Glad to see all the progress. I on the other hand have been creating more flimsys! I have at least three quilt tops and their backs ready for sandwicing which will have to wait until December. I will hopefully be in Florida and have use of large tables. Enjoying you all for now.
