Joe'smom, Booms (Boomerang Friendship Swaps) are those where pieces of fabric are sent out to group members and they come back to you as completed blocks. Think of a Boomerang. Properly thrown, it comes back to you! TG supplied the striped fabic and the other members used their fabrics to complete a block. TG is a repeat Boomer and she made that quilt from blocks her fellow Boom 15 members made for her. Together with her finishing including sashing, borders, quilting and binding, it turned out particularly well.

Nice finishes TG, you did a nice job on those.
Not sure if it counts, but I finally finished a small afghan that I started in 1982. yes it is done, finally. |
TG I love your 3 quilts but especially the boom quilt, they always pull at my heart strings. Love seeing our blocks made into quilts.

Feb. finish #5, #6, Backside showing mounting technique

Here's my 5th and 6th Feb. finishes. The last picture shows the way these are mounted, for those who've asked how I do it.

Cool pics, Rob. That first one reminds me of the lines I draw for Zentangles.

Thanks Martina. Have you tried doing FMQ Zentangles? Our LQS offered a class a while back which I didn't have time to take, but I heard they had a blast.

Really nice finishes Rob! You're on a roll. I've been away for 2.5 weeks so no sewing for me. Just waiting to board my flight back home, looking forward to reuniting with my Bernina.

wow we are so going to out do last year if we keep up this rate.
I refinished the table runner. There is one big bobble but I knew it would be there if I used filler fmq'ing on the background. I believe I can live with it. But one way or another it is back in the finished pile. I believe it has already been counted as a finished UFO. It is called the Christmas Heart Table Runner. When Clyde takes a picture in March I'll attach it here. |
Two more beautiful finishes, Rob! Your quilts really engage the imagination. I love what you've done with the purple-y one, especially the little gold flowers.
