I wasn't going to jump on this year. The last two years I just had a nice ride along. I lost my parents in that time and just now feel like I can live for myself again. The local sewing group did an all day sew on Saturday and I took my 4 patch posey to work on. I learned to do sashing with corner stones, what a difference it made. Now for some boarders to finish the top. It won't be a January finish but I feel excited to sew again. Thank you for all the encouragement you give to each other. You are a true blessing to many of us.

Glad you are here, Countrymaid. Quilting was very therapeutic when my mom died. She had started a quilt for her not-yet-born granddaughter when she died unexpectedly. I finished the quilt, working during the night when I couldn't sleep. It was a way to stay connected to her and really helped me as I tried to process what had happened. Today, I am making a quilt for that granddaughter's brother, to be born any day now. This quilt is very special to me because I feel like I am doing it for my mom, who made sure all her grandchildren had very special quilts.

I want to join in the fun. I have been lurking for the last two weeks and need to get several completed. Most of the tops are done, but they have yet to be sandwiched and bound.

Wish me luck!

I'd love this quilt, CarolinePaj! It's cheery, fun AND educational! Congratulations on a wonderful UFO finish. Toot, Toot

I haven't finished any quilting UFO's yet this year, however, yesterday as I was looking for some specific fabric, I found a suede tote I started in 2000! It took me less than an hour to finish. It also opened up a little more space in my drawer. Now on to my quilting UFO's.

Sophie2, A finish is a finish, so you get credit for finishing your tote if you want to take it. We'd love to see a photo and ohhh and ahhhh over it. Anything that gets one more project out of our storage spaces and into use is what we are all about!!
Way to go Sophie2!!!

Countrymaid, so happy to have you with us! This is a fun place even if one is only along for the ride. We take all the cheerleaders we can get. And if you get some healing, sewing and smiles along the way, that is what we are all about. Hugs and smiles of welcome to all the newcomets!

LOL.. I was going to edit the typo as I meant to type newcomers, but heck, maybe you guys are UFO finishers extraordinaire and will fly thru the UFOs like comets!!

Well I haven't been much of an encourager or supporter, at least not by posting, but I have been busy trying to get a UFO completed by the end of the month. Hope to be able to post pictures next week!

Last night I finished a quilt that will be gifted to a friend that helped us on our recent move. It is MSQC pattern - Disappearing Hour Glass. Was fun and easy to do and may make another one when my pile of UFO's gets smaller! I am having trouble loading the picture. Will try later to post a picture.
