Yes, Mary... you can certainly do it that way. Every year there are some people who do just that.

Now that I've decided to join in for sure, I've misplaced those darn paint chips... Argh!

Mary...good news for you and me too. This is straight from the En Provence intro quoted: Yardage amounts are for scraps and/or planned yardage. If you want one piece of yardage for each color, you are fine there too!

If you want to read the intro and see the new posts, this is the webpage address

Found my paint chips and pulled my fabrics. Was going to substitute but in my scraps I actually did have a good bit of purple. I'm happy to say all of these are from my scrap bins, sorted by color families. Only the magenta was a small yardage I had on the shelf.... And what do you think of my magenta? Good... or should I keep looking?

I actually have way more neutrals than I'm showing. I have shirtings and lots of civil war neutrals... I have a feeling the neutrals are going to be predominant in this quilt, as she's given a bigger fabric requirement for them than any of the colors.

I like your magenta sewbizgirl, nice against your purple.

SBG - Those are looking great! So glad you are going to "play" along with us! I picked up some more greens today, as I was low on that avocado color. Also got another lavender and purple. I think I am all set!

Sewbizgirl, I see some of my neutrals in your stack. Nice selection.

SBG you have a wonderful assortment of fabrics! Your magenta selection is perfect.

Thank you... esp. the opinions on my magenta. Now the only question is... what are we going to do with these? Whatever it is, I know it will be fun. :p

mary, I am buying new fabric with just one fabric for each color too. I decided to do this because I am using softer shades of the colors and did not have what I wanted in my stash.

i am also in the same boat of many of you too---my Allietare top is finished but I have not sent it to the long armer yet, so have not tried the scallop borders/binding yet.
