Thank you ladies for the input and suggestions - perhaps I will stick with the pink blocks...or make two different throw sized quilts. As this point I shouldn't have to make too many more units.

SBG I love your finished quilt. I've struggled with the busyness, but they do seem to grow on me the more I see all the different ones completed.

Wow, I've been away from the board for one day and I missed so much! Sewbizgirl, I wish I was as determined as you; I only have five of my 12 blocks done. Your throw is stunning! I love it! And the green boarder is just perfect.
Carol, I like your magenta. I think it makes your quilt sparkle. Lovely!

Thank you... Now I have to go finish putting last year's Allietare together!

Cathy and SBG, your finishes are fabulous. I had planned on using a third border, so am very glad to see the one that SBG did. The green really brings out the other greens in the quilt.

SBG, That's nice and cheerful! :-) I agree with what others mentioned, I like the border you made too. I've just made the Scrappy Hunter's Star quilt with the star points going out into a scrappy border, so I'm not keen on doing it again.

I've saved a similar pattern to BH MQ in my 'ideas' folder that I've seen elsewhere online. There are variations along this same theme. This pattern looks more square, while others seem more round for the 'circle' areas, because of using the TriRecs in the areas where the 'circles' meet. I like that it is more square and has the green/yellow mixed in with the purple, which keeps it different than the similar patterns I've seen-- that way if I get around to making the pattern in my 'ideas' folder I won't have two quilts alike.

I was making half of the units. I've decided to make more, so it will be a twin size-- so I'm going for 3 x 4 blocks.

Yay done sewbizgirl!

SBG, love the border and the finished top.

Carol, as much as it pains me (I don't like pink) I think I prefer the pink stars. And definately the brighter yellow block.

Oh good... that's what I was trying to do! I felt like the greens disappear in the quilt, so tried the small border to help pull them out. I think I'm going to bind it in one of the dark purples.

You might be surprised to find your 3x4 comes out full size! If I wasn't throughly sick of this quilt I might try doing another row of 3, as well.

Cathy and SBG, great job!
Thank you, SBG, for showing your finished top. I can't believe how large it has turned out. I was thinking of doing 3x4 thinking it would be just a throw. Now I'm wondering if 2x4 would work or would it be a bit too small.

Guess I'll have to actually start putting the pieces up on the design wall to see what I come up with.
