pamlaw3, sorry I missed your question WOF is Width Of Fabric...from salvage to salvage, make sure you watch that 7/8 mark, it's important to get accurate with cutting.
I didn't get an email on this post of yours, unless it was before I joined, so I hope I can help more. |

I'm primarlily a grment sewer/machine embroiderer who likes to occasionally quilt.
I have several questions, when you were putting the border together, did you do it in strip sets or any particular order to put it together? Looking at the diagram, I wondered if you did the inner row of blocks, then the row with the black blocks, then the outer row? And did you use the HST ruler? I've not purchased one of those yet. Take care, Chris |

What is papr pieceing?
|
Paper Piecing is a pattern on paper with straight lines. You put your fabric against the paper, and stitch on the line, iron it back & aleign another piece to stitch on a line. Here is a link for a tutorial to explain. But it's a nice way to get precision blocks, just "stitchin on the line" like coloring in the lines as kids.

[quote=quazyquilter]I would like to challenge all the "veteran" quilters on this board to find a "newbie" and adopt one. I have taken one under my wing, so to speak and I am teaching her to quilt via this board, e-mail and the phone.
There are some "newbies" out there that would probably welcome our help and guidance and have lots of questions that maybe they are too shy to ask, or they may not know how to ask about certain things, for fear that they will be considered "dumb questions". So, QUILTERS,UNITE!!! ================ I could definitely use help with binding - I cant seem to master that at all- all phases really. even hand qsewing the other side - you can see my stitches and corners and the ends lol yes all of it thanks :D :D |
