Today I spent 4 hours cutting, ironing and pining, prepping for several sewing hours tomorrow. I laid out a block, not sewed to see how well my fabric plays together. I’m on the fence, but will post pic tomorrow. At this stage i’m Going with what I have. I really like the 4 fabrics and hope I like the final reveal.. like several of you, i’m Not thrilled with the on point design. But if it looks good I will go with it. As for the step #3, i’m Think it will be a border of v type design. At least I hope it is and the other 18 1/2 squares will make up part of the triangles pieces on the edge of the main squares. I figure the background light background color will sourround the pieces. That’s my opinion. We will know in a day or so. I can hardly wait, it’s like waiting for Santa.

I really like everyone’s pics abd possible quilt designs you came up with. So creative, I also really like the purple block. (I’m partial to purple).

I've really enjoyed seeing the creativity in everyone's blocks. I appreciate all of the color and layout variations - I am constantly inspired by all of the beautiful work here. I've been quietly sewing all week catching-up after falling a few clues behind while away over the holidays. Whew.. Pics below are of my pieced units and 1st completed block. As a newbie this is certainly the most detailed quilt I've made to date. Learning so much through the process which is exactly why I decided to do this. I read everyone's ideas and recommendations and it's so very helpful to me - thank you! I've diligently cut, pieced and trimmed measuring every step of the way. The 1st block is to size (after one adjustment to my seam allowance guide) but I see my orange geese units were trimmed to the wrong side causing short seam allowance and dull points. I'm sure I'll find other imperfections but overall I'm pleased with my 1st attempt! Thanks again to everyone for sharing your sewing wisdom and helping me stay in the game here!

Happy New Year to all

That is beautiful, Christine.

I spent most of the day putting together my folded corners blocks. I still have a few seams to go but most of mine are done. For those doing the full size, I don't think there's any way to keep up with her rapid fire clues. I am almost up to date, but I'm only doing half. My hat is off to those of you doing the whole enchilada.

Happy New Year to all my mystery buddies!

Love your batiks Christine!

I am so enjoying everyones units and ideas. I also had to put one together on my ironing board to look at. Wondering what tomorrow will bring!

Happy New Year everyone!

I haven't sewn any blocks together yet. Here's one on the design wall.
