Please rest your eyes and don't over to it after the surgery, rryder! I get all squeamish with anything to do with eyes.

Sewbusy, I'm sorry to hear of your moms accident. I hope she heals well fast!

Are you watching your seam allowances? When I get comfortable and start sewing a little faster, I might get the seam allowances a little bit too wide. Then I have to go back and sew another seam beside the first one, and take the first one out. I call it "seam alteration"... and there's some of that in every group I sew. I can imagine what a mess I'd have at the end if I didn't measure every piece after I press the seams, and then go back and make whatever alterations might be necessary. If I'm lucky and have been paying good attention to the seam allowance, there will only be a few that need altering.

I'm starting to get excited that we have a new clue tomorrow! Yay... one more sleep.

Sometimes pressing can make them wonky. I do the draw a line on the square method--I press the corner back before trimming the fabric. It seems to add stability while pressing. Then I trim off the underneath triangles.

I think pressing is usually my problem though my seam can wander with my mind. I was laughing at myself this morning because something I sewed came out just right (a rather infrequent event) and I thought to my "well would you look at that" which is like the surprise I sometimes get when my bank balance matches my check register.

This past spring I gave myself permission to not care a bit, if fabric ended up by same fabric. I liked the result, believe it or not.
This is a 60X40 quilted bed topper (double sided, no batt) out of the last of my aboriginal prints Rob brought back from his trip down under, and limited options of moda marbles I think.
I think at one spot there are six sames :) I like it! So I'm carrying forward with current quilts.

With the Geese units...do you press seams toward the neutral or towards the orange?

I find I have better accuracy of I finger press before I apply the iron. My iron really messes up my seams.

Kristen, I think Bonnie said to press towards the neutrals. At least I hope she did because I just finished pressing all my geese that way!

Pretty tumbler quilt, Kalama... with that much going on, it would be hard to notice any 'sames'.
